About the Site

"Some people juggle geese" is a quote from Joss Whedon's defunct sci-fi/western tv show Firefly. I take it to be a positive statement about the richness of the human experience.

Money words

In the past, I’ve read British books and not known the relevant money-related vocabulary. This sign, spotted at the museum of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, should help!

I have never heard a million American dollars called ‘a rock’. Go figure.
